I would recommend this place to anyone

"Welcoming, friendly staff, cute lobby and rooms, and VERY clean.  Our room was bigger than we expected, cute decor, and a very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was delicious... I would recommend this place to anyone."

Hidden Gem

"This place is a true hidden gem. Room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Grounds were also impeccable... Staff was very friendly, and the included breakfast was delicious. An extremely cozy weekend getaway. Highly recommend."

Cozy motel...great launching point for hiking Mt Adams

"The motel was very clean and well-maintained. The decor is very attractive...Northwest rustic. We found our room to be very quiet... Perfect for hikers who get up early to hit the trails. The continental breakfast had lots of options & is served in the breakfast room. Trays were available to take food back to your room or to picnic tables located on the property if you don't want to dine in the breakfast room. The bed & linens were very comfortable. We did "take-out" from the local diners and utilized the park-like area on the motel property. My husband & I felt so safe during these uncertain Covid times and really appreciated all the efforts that management & staff took to protect their guests! We will be back next year!"

Pleasant surprise in this small town

"Stayed here three nights in August because of it's proximity to lots of great hiking and exploring in the Mt. Adams area of Washington. Very nice property. Reasonable rates. Well maintained, quiet modern and spacious rooms, friendly and accommodating staff, convenient location. They even had a continental breakfast.  WiFi was great. It was actually better than I had at a Marriott property I stayed in elsewhere a few weeks ago. Definitely would stay here again."

This is the place to stay!

"This is the place to stay if you plan on exploring the Mt Adams area. The cleanest rooms I have EVER stayed in... And a nice little creek runs through the property...perfect picnic area!"

Fabulous small hotel in the Gifford Pinchot

"Cute, comfortable, clean, well maintained. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast. Lodge style rooms, really good bed. I can go on and on but you'll just have to see for yourself! Close to little Trout Lake store , cafe and ranger station. We come for quicker access to hiking near Mt Adams, but the area is an outdoor wonderland."

I love this place!

"The bed and fluffy pillows were fantastic, made even better with nice quality sheets. The spacious room was absolutely adorable. Clearly I could go on and on with the compliments. The best part of course was the wonderful friendly service. Can't wait for our next visit."

Comfortable and clean

"This is a very nice and clean place to stay. Very relaxing and quiet.  Comfortable bed, nice quality sheets. Has all the amenities you need. Spacious room, nicely made wood furniture. This is a great place to stay if your going to be in the area."

Spent New Year's Eve at the Inn. Welcoming, friendly staff, cute lobby and rooms, and VERY clean.

"Our room was bigger than we expected, cute decor, and a very comfortable bed. There's a big hot tub, tucked away for privacy. The continental breakfast was delicious, with a lot of the area's history on the walls. I would recommend this place to anyone."

Wonderful room and service!

"My husband has been wanting to stay at this inn for several years, and we finally found ourselves in the area and made it happen! The management was very welcoming--answering any questions and offering suggestions on local activities. The whole property is done in a woodsy, cabin decor with nice touches of whimsy... Our room was absolutely great: firm king bed, great linens, roomy bath, real glasses and coffee mugs, wine opener (GREATLY appreciated), a/c, plentiful seating. Right outside the rooms on the covered walkways are sets of cafe chairs and tables to sit a spell--or walk over to the little park area and sit under the big trees and listen to the water wheel in the creek. Continental breakfast area off the lobby is very cozy with lots of local history and interest on the walls. Lobby also has many local sweets for sale, made from the local blue huckleberries. We will definitely stay here again!! Have to go back to try the hot tub that we didn't have time to do this trip!"

Cutest. Motel. Ever.

"I have relatives in Trout Lake so I've driven past this place a million times, but we've always stayed at their house so we've never had any reason to need a room here. But because of COVID-19, we needed to conduct our family gathering without having too many people staying in the house, so my immediate family and I got a hotel room.

I've always been able to tell just from driving by that this place was well-kept. The grounds are flawless and nicely decorated. Each room has a patio table and chairs outside it, as well as a window-shaped mirror and planter box. And then I fell in love with the room instantly. It was impeccably clean (to a degree that tells me this is the norm and not just due to COVID precautions) and quite spacious. The beds and all the furniture have a cute rustic-yet-modern look. The mini fridge was large and included a separate freezer compartment that was much appreciated. The bed was almost the perfect level of firmness for me (too soft kills my back) and I loved the sheets and blankets. I also appreciate when hotels have a separate sink area outside the main bathroom, and that was the case here. There was also a woodstove (which I believe was actually gas-powered) that I imagine would be quite cozy if staying there during winter months. I seriously loved everything about the room, from the bed linens to the paint colors to the bathroom floor vinyl.

For just being a continental breakfast, there were quite a few morning food options as well. The lobby has several tables to sit at, as well as t-shirts and various huckleberry products for sale. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was just a great experience. I'd say "I can't wait to stay here again," but I also hope to be able to stay with family again once this virus isn't as big of an issue. Still, I might just have to find my way back here at some point."

A friendly local motel that SHINES

"Likely much has been said in the other favorable reviews, but let me add that it is all the thoughtful additional touches that makes this place stick out head-and- shoulders above what you are used to when traveling. They do not cut corners., they do not skimp, but every item, from real matte glass in the picture frames, to an easy-to-find wine opener in the room, to a lazy hammock, and outdoor BBQ stations and a LOVELY picnic area, all add up to a great stay. Linger a night or two.

Their "continental" breakfast is much more substantial than most. Tip: most places closed mid-week in the fall for meals, so plan for Station Cafe or get a steak and potato at the local store, along with a bottle of wine and BBQ in front of your room..."

Trout Lake Valley Inn may be a motel, but don't let that fool you.

My wife and I stayed at Trout Lake Valley Inn for our anniversary. I'd never heard of this motel before, and as we were were initially looking for a hotel in Hood River (all of which met our criteria being booked up), this seemed like an unlikely place to choose.
Yet it turned out better than anything else we could have planned. Our room was spacious, clean, well-decorated in rustic fashion (yet not over the top), and the service was excellent. It was an extremely relaxing and romantic getaway for us. Even the grounds was park-like, with a beautiful area next to the creek, complete with a water wheel.
This place is managed extraordinarily well, and they are excellent in customer care. On the morning we left, we got up very late. Too late to expect breakfast...yet when I entered the dining room to bring back breakfast to our room, in spite of the fact that the hostess had already put everything away, she graciously brought food back out, making us feel completely at home.
If you are looking for a beautiful, rural, mountain getaway between Portland OR and the Tri-Cities and Yakima, you will miss out if you don't stay at Trout Lake Valley Inn. The experience is as rewarding as the incredible view of Mt. Adams directly to the north of the inn.

The group absolutely loved the place.

We just spent a night at The Trout Lake Valley Inn and I cannot day enough good things about it. We hosted a group “Mystery” motorcycle ride and the Inn was our final destination. The experience from making the reservations to checkout were awesome. Sarah was so helpful answering questions and Samantha went and got our pizza for dinner since we were on our bikes. Their customer service was was so above and beyond. The rooms were lovely and the beds so comfy. There is not a single thing they could have done to make our stay better! We all highly recommend this hotel and we will be going back for sure!

This is a wonderful place to stay.

The rooms are quiet, clean, large and comfortable with many nice touches - actual glass glasses, for example! Good wi-fi and TV. Gas-fired wood stove makes the room quite cozy. Very good breakfast. The owner is present and pleasant.
